Welcome to the New ModMouse

This site was created for the fans of the group MODEST MOUSE and if you're asking yourself "Modest WHO???" then you need to park your butt in front of your pc for a few hours and get to know this band via their fans, since they obviously know great music when they hear it (it's a proven fact ;) ). That being said, this site was originally named "chickie-monkie.com" but as time went on I [Emmy] reckon I grew up and so did this site and I felt this place was in need of a better (do I dare say 'mature') name so I now bring you drum roll please: modmouse.com

What to Expect from ModMouse.com

My mission by creating this site back in 2001 was to provide a place where we the fans of MODEST MOUSE can get our fix so to speak. To put it simple, I got tired of doing a search for MM and only finding short articles (if any, back in 2001) to read and hardly any good website where us fans can share our thoughts about them WITH EXCEPTION TO Knerd.com who throughout the years has provided us fans with so much info and resources on this band (thanks for the memories knerd.com). So anyway, that's the history on why I made this place. Pretty straight forward, no?

Why Modest Mouse?

Well, I said the same thing for years when my one friend (and he knows who he is) tried to encourage me to listen to MM. I wasn't interested in this band despite not hearing any songs from them and actually (don't laugh) but I thought MM was sorta a loud, raunchy, heavy metal band (sorta like Metallica in other words). Anyway, I don't remember how exactly it happened but one day I woke up and POOF...Modest Mouse was a big part of my life and I haven't stopped enjoying this band from that day on. MM was an instant appeal to me and I couldn't get enough of them and within a few weeks, I managed to buy all the MM cd's I could get my hands on at my local music store and the rest is history.
