thoughts? (ps if you don't have it yet, it only took me 30 minutes ish to dl it on soulseek..)
i personally love it... it's really different, but might be one of their best, if not the best. i love "world at large" and "blame it on the tetons" and even the wierd shit like "the devil's work day"
but it's really not a logical progression from m & a.. lyrically i think it would make sense for it to have come out first (ie with the death themes, etc)
but whatever, rock on

i agree. some of my favorite albums of all time are ones that had to grow on me. this album is very original. it doesnt sound like anything out there.
this is what we want from our favorite bands, to grow and change it up. not repeat the same album over and over.
this is a great album, and i cant wait to buy the real thing in april.

The View
Dance Hall
Eric's Interlude
Blame it on the Tetons
Are the new tracks that I'm loving here. I'm really impressed by what I'm hearing, although, it did take 2 good listening to, to finally get to the point that I was impressed.
Float On, One Chance, Bury Me With It and Satin in a Coffin...I heard at the shows and instantly liked them so those were winners in my book from the get-go.
To say which song I don't like/not jiving with me is something I'm finding hard to do here. Each song just keeps growing on me. 8-)

the only songs i can find on soulseek off the new album is world at large and float on. all the other songs are either fake or live versions. :x

ive been listening to this all day, and i really think there are no bad tracks on the cd... though it took a couple of listens to really enjoy devils work day.

Actually, this is the first release that I'm not the least bit 'sorry' for downloading. The copy we all have is from a RADIO Station. It was a Radio Station that spoiled it for MM (and the record industry) by publicly airing the ENTIRE cd which common sense should have be used here, regarding the highly possibility that fans would record it.
Anyway, seeing how this release has been pushed back from 2003, to March 2004, now to April 2004 and seeing how none of us had a copy before this Radio Station Broadcast and seeing how the copy that we do have now, is not A+ quality (it was recorded from the radio) leaves me 100% positive that the fans will still go out and purchase the cd. Well, I'm still gonna buy the cd since I'm curious to see the art work and whatnot.

Honestly, I felt a bit guilty at first for downloading this release. But leave it to Emmy to talk me into getting it before it hits the stores.. haha, she really has a good point about this release (radio dub). So everybody should have this by NOW, its f*ckin rockin! Of course I will be purchasing this sucker in the April month...just can't wait.

I don't think this album sounds too "weird" at all. It's the most mainstream of them all I think. I was really sad to see jerimiah go but have to admit i'm really getting into the new drum stylings. Best song on it I have to say is Bukowski. Can't wait to see them in March! They never dissapoint. :tu:
Who cares we all got to get a sneak preview! The radio station didn't ruin anything...we're all still going to buy it if we like it. In my opinion that's how it should be. I've bought sooooo many CDs which I regretted buying when i popped 'em in my player. Any real fan wants quality, I mean, there aren't too many half-assed modest mouse fans around who're gonna be satisfied with this.

Don't worry, I do believe 3rdplanetboy85 will cave in soon and download these tracks. :p
We should take a bet on this site concerning this. $5.00 says 3rdplanetboy85 gives into the evil, evil, evil temptation and downloads the songs.

indeed. really, once i got the cd in my car, i really noticed the quality issues.. there's lots of fuzz at the beginning of 'world at large' and a bunch of other tracks. but i'm gonna buy the cd as soon as it comes out, just because mm deserves the $ cuz they did so well.
ps: do you really think this album is their most "mainstream"? i actually had a friend (who has only heard m & a) say "i cant believe mm is doing this" and things of that nature. but either way, you cant deny that its amazing stuff
