Does anyone ever listen to this cd?

I'm asking since I never do and I couldn't tell you when the last time I did, nor what tracks are even on it. Actually, I think I only listened to it 4 times when it first came out and never again. If you were to ask me what's the worse release of MM, I would nominate this...even though it's an EP, I would still nominate it.

I listen to it a lot actually. 3 Inch Horses, Two Faced Monsters and Night On the Sun are the ones I listen to the most. But I still listen to the other tracks.

I listen to this EP mostly for "Night On The Sun", one of the best songs ever!

I would say that it's actually one of my favorite cd's of theirs...besides m&a, I love the back-country slang style riffs in like 3inch horses two faced monsters.....you also gotta love I came as a rat.

I like it a lot.. in some ways I like it more than moon and antarctica..

I love:
willful suspension of disbelief
night on the sun
you're the good things
so much beauty in dirt
here it comes

and the only songs that I like as much (but probably more) on M&A are third planet, gravity rides everything, and lives

night on the sun is definitely classic to everyone probably...great great song.

"willful suspension of disbelief" is just beautiful.

and hmmm..."so much beauty in dirt"..even just the title of that song seems to sum up everything modest mouse is about very very well. it also describes the way I view life, when I am looking at life the way I want to / should see it.

"you're the good things" pops into my head sometimes when thinking of certain people

and I've loved "here it comes" ever since it was the only song modest mouse played when I saw them that I didn't already know... I got the EP less than a week later..

other than that.. "3 inch horses..." is alright but not one of my favorites. "the air" seems like filler kind of, but that didn't keep me from having it stuck in my head hours after hearing it randomly yesterday, even after listening to like 3 other albums. weird. I consider it more of a brian deck composition than a modest mouse song, though. although I could be wrong. and "I came as a rat"...for some reason I never liked that song too much to begin with, and it seems especially unnecessary at the end of this EP... but overall, it's a very good release. if I want to get someone into modest mouse, I use this EP as an introduction to "newer modest mouse" because it has the experimental/well produced feel of "moon and antarctica" but has better pop songs and, being shorter, has fewer "filler" songs. but I don't mean "filler" in the usual way, I just mean, songs that make more sense as part of an album than by themselves..."moon and antarctica" has a lot of that. but anyway...

i love everywhere and his nasty parlour tricks! i cant break all the albums and songs down so much though. to me, everything moddies puts out is like one track that never ends (at least i hope not). this could be in part to the fact that when i first got into them i was downloading random songs from the net (for ages)and new nothing about albums or the band itself. this was actually really great. it somehow made it more magical. therefore i love every song the same.

having said all that crap, here it comes is really cool.
go nasty parlour tricks! :tu:
hey emmy, have you re-visited it yet? has your opinion changed any?

actually this is the only non-homemade-compilation moddies cd i have been listening to lately as all the rest are stuck in my broken cd player. i can't get them out!!!! :-| and the cd player wont play!!!

Guess what I'm jamming out to on this lovely Wednesday Morning at 6 a.m.? :music:

Yes, that's right! I'm finally giving Nasty another listen to (after years of neglecting it) and I'm enjoying it VERY MUCH! I love that I can listen to a MM cd after a few years have gone by and rekindle why I like this band. Don't know why I didn't fancy this release since it's GOOD!

good for you emmy.
i know what you mean. i've just finally rescued LCW, a long drive, sadsappysucker, M&A & some other burnt stuff from my evil stereo. they've all been there, un-playable for over six months and i know i'm going to have some happy times catching up with em all! :p
