I'm getting just a wee bit tired that I have YET to see Modest Mouse LIVE! O'why won't they play in South Carolina? Heck, might I be their only fan in SC? :?
Emmy

P.S. I should join the msn groups or yahoo groups and hunt out my fellow South Carolinian's.

I feel the pain of everyone, not only is that a reference to Dinosaur Jr. but... I really do feel your pain. I have never seen Modest Mouse live either! I'm from Houston, Texas. I'm sure they have come down here before, but I bet that was back in the 90's.

Their website, yes, truly SUCKS! And have you been to their message board, DON'T! What type of people run that place. Its gone mad, with a idiot-savant jokes about cum in orange juice and what not. Save yourselfs. Now, if I were you, I would publisize this message board because their isn't much cyberfreak interaction here.

Hey Yinnia, did you hear that Lollapalooza is making a return? I'm thinking that MM just might be on the bill for this since supposedly they're working on a new album and whatnot so maybe you just might get the chance to finally see them! :) But then again, I'm not really gung-ho about seeing Modest Mouse at such a festival but if that's the only chance I have to finally see MM, then I guess I'll do it. Watcha think? Will you go to Lollapalooza if Modest Mouse is on the bill?

I would not fly to see Modest mouse, its not worth it. Only if they come within 150 miles. (yes, id travel that far to see MM)

Lollapolooza? Would they really tour with them? I mean, the bands what play with lollapolooza are mainstream, and modest mouse is indie. I hope they don't tour with them.

I've been meaning to ask you : Are you and Chickie, and Imitator the same person?

I disagree. I would fly anywhere and do anything to see Modest Mouse live. No one band has ever changed my life as dearly as these three boys from Issaquah. I will see them someday and tears will pour.

Ok, I'm interested in hearing how MM changed your life, if you're willing to tell. :) I too, feel that Modest Mouse has greatly influenced my life (Trailer Trash/Polar Opposites/Whenever You Breathe Out...really hit me hard). I'm just so glad someone else feels this way too.

P.S. Emmy + Chickie-Monkie is one person, i.e. *me* :p "Chickie-Monkie" is my master account which I hate using but at times, I need to log in w/it and hence why I post under that account. Anyway, I'll try not to use it no more to ease the confusion.

Greetings,
Any word on Modest Mouse touring with lollapolooza?? I went to the offical lollapolooza site and they have a line up of a couple of bands, but Modest Mouse wasnt included. So do you have any word on this Emmy? And where did you hear that MM was probably going to tour with Lollapolooza?? (Because Lollapolooza is coming to Houston!)

-Yinnia

By the way: have you check out the band The Long Winters? Very very very good band from Seattle (Sean, the singer in Harvey Danger) is in The Long Winters. Check them out, they are on Barsuk records.

Oops, I was only making a hunch assumption concerning Lollapalooza. Sorry if I gave you false hope there. :( BUT HEY, did you see this:

MODEST MOUSE tour dates

May 24, 2003 Sasquatch Music Festival / The Gorge, Quincy WA
(with Death Cab for Cutie, Richard Ashcroft, Blue Man Group,
Jurassic Five, Flaming Lips, Coldplay)

Pretty cool lineup there but too bad I can't go. Damit, will I EVER see Modest Mouse? :?
Emmy

P.S. thanks for the plug concerning "The Long Winters." I haven't heard anything from them but I'll check them out. Thanks Yinnia!

Seriously, whats the big deal, why wont they just play at every part of this country? They play at seattle constantly, don't get me wrong, I LOVE Seattle, and I plan to move there in a very few years, but come on, get out of seattle for once and play in the south, TEXAS, well HOUSTON, Texas! Emmy, I hope they go on your side of the country too.

we were heartbroken.

they played a show in norfolk va back in july. it was a 1 1/2 hour drive for me but it was worth every mile on my car. i was hoping they would play somewhere in richmond. if you ever get to see them within 200 miles, go for it. it was the best show i ever saw

Hey trickinikisix, welcome to the site. :)

And I agree w/you about traveling to see MM. I have yet to see Modest Mouse perform in my State, so if I want to catch their live show, I have to travel over to Georgia but I don't mind one bit since it's fun making the road trip.

I think the tour/show scene in Seattle is one of the rare good things about living here. Don't get me wrong, I love this city- but with out excellent shows coming through every week I would be miserable. I have seen Modest Mouse 4 times in the past 8/9 months and will see them at least another 3 times in the next 2 months (but I am also willing to fly out of state to do so). But it isn't just Modest Mouse, we are lucky to be on the west coast run and get tons of bands in.
