YES! We're FINALLY gonna see...MODEST MOUSE!!!

:dancer: :NotWorth: :music:

Seriously, I'm bouncing off the frick'n walls here. I just found out about the tour on Friday when my friend emailed me asking if he should pick up my ticket for the Atlanta show. I had no clue they were going on tour but I'm sooooooo happy that they are!!! And I can't imagine my tickets being too expensive as last time I saw Ugly Casanova, I think the tickets were like $10.00 so I'm assuming it'll be in that price range again. We'll see but woo-hoo, I'm going to see Modest Mouse! I swear I'm happier then a clam here! Um, what ARE we gonna wear? ;)

Nah, drive down to ATHENS! :D

I betcha MM will add more dates to the Northeast Aaron. Betcha!!! But in the meantime, I still cannot believe I'm gonna see this band LIVE! Too bad I can't record it, as I don't have the devices to. :(

P.S. anyone who's going to these shows...try to record it, ok?

woo hoo! i am still very very excited!!

ok what are WE gonna wear??

hum.. Ok I got the Red Buffualo shirt.. and the blue one with circles.. both kinda worn out.. but looks very indiesh cuz u dont wanna wear a brand new shirt to the show, if u do wear a shirt, and its OLD u will loook like u go waaaaaay back with the band. believe me.

I read in an interview that modest mouse thinks its pretty cool when people wear their shirts to their show, and thought it was even cooler when iron Madien wore their own shirts on stage. lol..

sooooo i am still debating wether to even wear a MM shirt to the show.
Maybe I will wear the Black Heart Procession shirt. humm.. or wear my THeirf store clothes. ha ha

also.. no sign of other bands playing with modest mouse... HUm. it only says at the engine room website "Modest mouse July 25th" maybe they are alone??? i dunno.

Oh and the Radar brothers!!!! good band.. BUT if u are sleepy.. (which ur not gonna be cuz ur gonna be waaaaaaay excited) the band can put u to sleep! they are very mellow.
I saw them when they came to houston with Black Heart Procession

I heard Modest mouse has been putting on great shows this tour, and are playing new songs from their new album and extended other old songs.
its gonna be GREAT

woo hooo!!

emmy, u see the guys first than me, u better gimme beef on the show and tell me how godly they were!!!

you see them on July 23rd right?? well thats my b-day!!! ha ha.. i wish i could see them that day. but.. hey they come on july 25th to houston.. im not gonna complain!!!

I might be able to get a soundboard recording of the show in Houston. One of my friends knows the sound guy there and he is going to hook him up!!! If MM is ok with it of course.

Oops, no bootleg. I'm sorry but my friend couldn't bring it w/him (he was gonna borrow the recording device from someone else). Anyway, I didn't bring anything to write down the setlists (I completely forgot...duh) but they did play a few new songs and also, at the Athens gig (40 Watt Club in Georgia) I swear they played A LOT of new songs. Here's a picture of the setlist via Atlanta but I was told that there was another setlist to Isaac's right which I didn't get so...?

http://www.chickie-monkie.com/gallery/albums/userpics/normal_MM36.JPG

AND WOAH, they played Trailer Trash which is one of my favorite songs. I swear, the Atlanta gig was FRICK'N AMAZING!!!

Whoa, they played the exact same set earlier tonight in Houston. It was awesome. "Cowboy Dan" was so amazing I can't even begin to explain the awesomeness!!! It was extended really long and had new words!!!!
http://www.strike9.com/file.aspx?path=%2flochreas%2ffullsize%2fsetlist.jp g
The new songs were also amazing and I can't wait for a new album.

Also, for all of you who booed the Hackensaw Boys...FUCK YOU!!!

Radar Bros. were annoying though!

Wow, where did you get the set list from?

anyway, I MET Isaac, Eric, new drummer, some guys from hackensaw boys. I took pictures with them and of them. I wrote down the set list (well part of it) but Lochreas' is better.

I was in the very very front. I was even talking to Eric on stage and he tried to convience this guy (works for the engine room) to let me on stage so I can video record them. The guy was a bastard and didn't let me.

I the whole show on tape. Except for wild pack of family dogs, and part of the last song, which was "Broke". ;) and a new one.

I had to keep hiding the camera so It was in my bag while I was filming because the asshole people who work for Engine Room said they will take the video camera away if they see me video taping. DAMN YOU.
well i got the show anyway. I'm gonna upload it today on my computer.

A lady I met on the message board was at the Houston show and her friend worked the soundbooth so she is gonna let me have the live MM cd from this Houston show.

They booed the Hackensaw Boys? Bastards. I thought they were great. I was swinging around to the music with some guy i met. great fun.
They lacked sound though. I was at the very front and they still sounded really low. but other than that, great.

also. why wasnt everyone jumping up and down and singing every word along with Isaac?
I was fucking jumping up and down, hollaring, and singing to every word. there were like 4 other people doing that with me. and the rest were just staring! how can u just stare! Its modest mouse!

Well I was reaaaaaally reaaaally sweaty, and I mean really. I got the work out of the year by jumping up and down and singing.

in other words: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT SHOW. Everythign was AWESOME.

Woah is right! And I agree w/you, Cowboy Dan was incredible! To see Isaac sing this was the thrill of my night (amongst many). The audience members in Atlanta kept screaming this song out which I assumed would get overlooked by MM but no way. Modest Mouse gave us exactly what we wanted! :D

The new songs were also amazing and I can't wait for a new album.

Also, for all of you who booed the Hackensaw Boys...FUCK YOU!!!

YES, the new songs were frick'n AMAZING! I cannot wait till September to buy this new release!!!! And I was so impressed by the Hackensaw Boys. When they came on, I didn't know what to expect since I never heard of them before but they had the entire audience rock'n out. And that one guy was so darn hot! :p I have no idea what his name is despite trying to find out more info on this band. He was the guy who was on the right hand side of the stage...wearing a baseball hat...very muscular. Anyone got a clue what his name is?

And omg, the Radar Bros. were annoying as all hell. I mean, I respect them as a band but they weren't the best band to open up for MM. In a way, they sorta reminded me of Built To Spill but lacking any real rock'n songs. I wanted to boo them for the Athens gig since they were terrible and boring and dull but they had family members in the audience so I kept my mouth shut.

Anyway, I'm so glad you had an awesome time at your gig and that you got a setlist. That's wild! And thanks for posting it. I don't know about you but I wanna see MM again and next time they tour...I might even follow them around for more then just the Georgia shows. Anyone wanna join me? hee-hee

I MET Isaac, Eric, new drummer, some guys from hackensaw boys. I took pictures with them and of them.
Me too, well, I only met Isaac as he actually hung out w/us before the Athens gig (the doors didn't open up until 9pm and a few of us got there around 7pm and Isaac sat w/us on the park bench and shooted the breeze w/us about the new cd and whatnot). I got his autograph at that time. :D

I the whole show on tape. Except for wild pack of family dogs, and part of the last song, which was "Broke". ;) and a new one.
GET OUT? You soooo rock!!! I could kick myself in the butt for not bringing a recording device since it was so easy to take this inside w/us (security didn't check our stuff) but my friend couldn't get his hands on one. Ok, what must we do to hear this gig of yours? ;)

also. why wasnt everyone jumping up and down and singing every word along with Isaac?
I was fucking jumping up and down, hollaring, and singing to every word. there were like 4 other people doing that with me. and the rest were just staring! how can u just stare! Its modest mouse!
Woah, you should have been at my shows. There wasn't a soul in the venue who didn't go crazy when MM came on. At the Athens gig, there were people moshing and one guy was being carried on the audience hands (what do you call that? Audience Surfing? :???: ) O'anyway, I was in the front row for Athens but I had to leave since it got way too voilent for me. Even Isaac yelled at some guy in the front for being way too rowdy which had me thankful I got the heck out of the front row.

Well I was reaaaaaally reaaaally sweaty, and I mean really. I got the work out of the year by jumping up and down and singing.
Me too! :D OMG, I swear I've never sweated like that EVER at a show. I was completely soaked! I swear, I had such an incredible time at these gigs!!!

I'm so thrilled we all had a great time at these MM shows. For me, it's been a dream come true. Not only did I see this band (finally) but I actually met Isaac and got his autograph...something that I thought I would be too bashful to but woah, it happened!

Hey, feel free to post your pictures or provide a link to y'alls pictures or if you wanna, I can give you access to post them over on the http://www.chickie-monkie.com/gallery/index.php. You just upload them from your harddrive which is super easy if y'all wanna. Just let me know, ok?

WHAT! I wish I was at the show you were! I would kill to crowd surf (its called crowd surf when the audience is carrying ur body with their hands, so PUNK ROCK of them. heh.) Well houston does suck a bit, some people looked BORED. those idiots shoulda sold their tickets to someone who really REALLY liked the band.

I was in the front roll.. everyone was staring. UGH! But hell, I had my fun jumping up and down, singing along and hollaring.

and yea, the sweating like a hog part was soo cool.

How you can get the video:
I sending out the video for 10 bucks. That includes wether you want it on a CD-R or on VHS, and shipping and handling. I got 15 people on my list already and I'm stilling open for more people. Its great sound, great lighting, nice angles.

Hey, now that you saw MM, are you thinking like I am w/regards to seeing MM more then just in your local state? I'm seriously gonna try to see Modest Mouse as often as I can, if they play the south again. And speaking of such, I must say, Southern Fans ROCK! I was so impressed to see so many people from Nashville, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina at the Georgia gigs.

alrighty!

I take pictures of the license plates from band's tour vans. (I have some posted at my website) anyway, I was in line with my friend Nancy. I told her if she could go check if the tour van was in the back of the building while i wait in line. She did, and she said it was.

So I hurried off to the back and saw the tour vans. there was a gate there. and I saw the singer of Hackensaw boys by the gate. I asked him if I could go in and he said "Sure" and let me in.

I was walking about 5 feet into the parking lot when I saw ISAAC BROCK, just sitting there doing nothing. I introduced myself, etc etc, chatted, asked for an autograph, he autographed my Lonesome Crowded West cd.

Then he magical question: "Wanna come inside and met the other guys?" and reply "cool, yea." but in my head i was screaming "HOLY FUCKING YES!" I got into the shitty building with the rest of the MM memebers and the hackensaw boys. Met all of them, then continued to chat with Eric, he was playing his flute when i walked in. He has these piercing blue eyes. I got his autograph. took group PICTURES with all the guys etc. they posed and everything. it was soooooo awesome. then I was there for a while. filpped through some pictures. they introduced me to their dog. and then offered me BEER. ha ha

after that I said "thanks guys, its gonna be a killer show" there was a group hug, and I left.

taaaaa daaa!!!

on stage, Eric was talking to me. and he tryed to convience some lame guy to let me on stage to record. but the lame guy refused! bastard! but the guys were sooo sweet!

And hey, I too, got Isaac to sign my copy of The Lonesome Crowded West. May I ask, why did you get this cd autographed? I brought along TLCW since I love Trailer Trash and I've always said that if I could get an autograph, I wanted this cd to be the one. I can't believe we both got the same cd autograph. That's WILD!!!! You obviously have great taste!!!

My friend who lives in Canada just told me that MM is playing September 9th in her home town. How comes we're not being kept informed about additional tour dates here? Supposedly the last date for this tour was August 29th but obviously that's wrong. Um, have I mentioned how much I can't stand MM official website? :x
Emmy

P.S. does anyone know the scoop here? Got any additional info concerning more MM dates?

Um, I'm still wondering if maybe they're gonna play some more U.S. dates or might they be now embarking on their World Tour (if any)? My friends in the Netherlands (Kenneth & Kevin) WANT to see Modest Mouse!!! Wonder if MM knows they've got 2 big fans there? :p

They are going to be in Vancouver on the 12th (I saw the dates listed here and figured they MUST be stopping by).. If you want to know if there are coming to your neck of the woods google modest mouse + your city.

The reason I came here though is I've been trying all day to figure out what guitar Isaac has been playing of late, it looks a lot like a PRS but it has something written on the headstock that I can't make out in any pictures. Anybody know?

Well, they have two big fans + I could manage to gather forty people who'll go with me...so, the question is:
Is it enough for a European tour????
hmmzz, make 'em famous!

Anyhoot, I missed the fact that a lot of you peoples went to see MM live!
I hear you all had great expierences! That's fantastic!

I think one of the new songs is bound to become a big hit here in the Netherlands! (never say never...)

I'm thinking of flying out to Denver and checking out Modest Mouse on November 15th, since they're playing in Colorado Springs at '32 Bleu.'
